Dancer Achievement Award – Jan/Feb/March 2016
Aoife Cashin (under 15 girls)
We would like to award Aoife Cashin with our dancer achievement award Jan/feb/march 2016.
Aoife is a 3rd year pupil at Colaiste Raithin Bray. Aoife started with our Academy at the young age of four. A beautiful blonde little girl looking up at us and now a beautiful tall teenager, nearly looking down on us. We have had a lot of pupils over the years and I can say Aoife is the hardest worker we have ever had in our classes and a pleasure to teach at all times. Aoife has won all her grades and pre lim championships on her way up the ladder to open and has also qualified and competed at the World championships. Aoife has worked very hard to become an open dancer and realizes how much work it takes to stay and accomplish even more at this very high position of her dance career. Her style of dance is blossoming and she has a pair of feet that could dance on their own, not surprising as she comes from a lovely family back ground of Irish cultural music and dance. Aoife is a credit to her mum and dad and they should be very proud of her. We give great thanks to her mum for all the encouragement she has given Aoife over the years and the opportunities she has given Aoife to travel and compete in some of the major events throughout the world. Aoife made our school very proud when she took third place in the Prelim championships at the All Scots in Glasgow a few weeks ago. Also on top of that great result we celebrated her position of: one of the main recall. She just gets better and better. We hope we have many more happy years together Aoife. You are an amazing young lady. You should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations.
Alanna Johnson (under 13 girls)
We are only too proud to give a dancer achievement award to Alanna Johnson Jan/Feb/March 2016.
Alanna is a 1st year pupil at Colaiste raithin Bray. One of our amazing World qualifiers for 2015 and 2016. Alanna started with our academy in Bray when she was 4 years old. A very cute talented beginner who quickly turned into a very beautiful talented open dancer at such a young age. This did not come easy and Alanna has worked very hard to get to where she is today. Blood sweat and tears as they say and believe me there were plenty of tears. As most of us know along with ones love for dancing comes friendship. Alanna danced along side Amber Behan for many years. They were a little team. Amber left us last year. It was a great loss for our academy and especially for Alanna. They had many great years together. We are so proud of Alanna for keeping up her dancing and not given up especially when I’m sure she felt alone at this time. We know Coimisiun dancing presents dancing at a very high standard and Alanna is not afraid of working hard to achieve her greatest potential. Alanna has taken fourth place in the Leinster Championships and now chasing the title and we know one day she will do it. Alanna has lead our Ceili teams in the World Championships to sixth place. Amazing. Alanna did us so proud at the recent All Scots 2016 in Glasgow. Not only recalling but taking such a high placing. We are so so proud of her. Alanna is working extremely hard now for the World Championships again in Glasgow at Easter this year 2016. We are delighted with Alanna’s hard work as the World championships approach. We wish Alanna the best of luck with this strenuous training ahead of her. Keep up the good work. Great days ahead. A big thanks to Alanna’s mum and dad for supporting and encouraging her in her dance career. Also for given Alanna so many opportunities to travel all over the World for dance feiseanna and workshops. You are super parents. (Remembering California last summer 2015) Congratulations Alanna.
Lucy Lou Ryan (under 12 girls)
We would like to award Lucy Lou with our dancers achievement award Jan/Feb/March 2016.
Lucy Lou is a 6th class student in Divine Word Marley Grange, Rathfarnham. Lucy Lou is a beautiful dancer and has achieved the hardest thing of all “A transfer”. Yes to transfer from one school to another is not easy and many can never make the change successfully. However, I can say Lucy Lou has done it and this is to be praised. She has worked extremely hard in the last few years and has stormed her way through all her grades winning gracefully. She has listened to everything she has been told and is now a fully pledged open dancer with the Fegan Academy. You should take time out to be proud of yourself Lucy Lou as we are very proud of you and glad to have you as part of our team. Lucy Lou again was one of our beautiful Ceili dancers at the World Championships in Boston a few years ago. She works extremely hard and attends many classes in the week. We look forward to your progression on up the open ladder. This stage takes time and is always fun and a great pleasure for us to watch your improvement. We had some great achievements at the All Scots this year and Lucy Lou added to our proud moments. A fantastic soft shoe placing and two off the recall. Really super. A great big thanks to Lucy Lou’s mum and dad who are very proud of Lucy and committed to making sure Lucy Lou gets to all her classes and competitions. They are fantastic parents. Congratulations Lucy Lou.
Amy Martin (under 12 girls)
Another dancers achievement award must go to one of our great up coming dancers Amy Martin Jan/feb/march 2016.
Amy is a 6th class student at Kilmacanogue National School, Co. Wicklow and started to dance with the Fegan Academy in the after school activities in this school at the young age of 5 years old. It was not long before Amy started to take extra classes in Bray and eventually moved on to our advanced classes. Amy has a really lovely style of dance and over the last year Amy has improved so so much. She has taken many extra classes and workshops and has worked extremely hard. Winning all her grades was hard work but rewarding for both Amy and teachers. Amy was one of our fabulous Ceili dancers who competed at the world championships in Boston a few years ago. Amy also enjoyed a fantastic workshop in California last summer 2015. Amy is a pleasure to teach and is a big part of our class. She is very unique in her taste of cucumber sandwiches during camp sessions. We are looking forward to great things in the open grades. We know you have the potential to become one of our top dancers. We do hope you will stay with us and give us the opportunity to prove this to you. The world is yours. A great big thanks to Amy’s mum and dad for the big effort they have put in, in the last few years getting Amy to class and competition. Your great. You have a fabulous young lady you should be very proud off. Congratulations Amy.
