Mount Anville (Junior and Montessori School) THURSDAYS 3-3.50pm.

I have had the great pleasure of teaching Irish Dancing to the children in Mount Anville school for over 20 years.  This present class is open to all children in the Junior and Montessori school. It is held in the Extra curriculum room.

Children will have the opportunity to learn both soft and hard shoe dancing.  Reels, jigs, slip jigs, hornpipes, group, show dancing etc. Children are taught to perfection and at their own pace.

I am very passionate about my commitment to Irish dancing and I find a great personal award in teaching and helping dancers develop great dance skills and a love for Irish dance.

Dancing increases the child’s desire to do well. Each child is encouraged to be the best they can be.

Each child will need a pair of Irish dance soft and hard shoes and also a skipping rope for class. These are available on our package deals (under shop).  If you would like me to fit and supply you with shoes and a rope drop me an email or text. 086-8170292 Pauline.   It is not compulsory to buy shoes through ourselves, however I do recommend it. I like to fit beginners with a little space whereas I find others can fit too tight. Also, going forward if you do take on a little competition you have the correct shoes we require and do not need to change from the style you have. Irish dance shoes are preferable to the ballet shoe as Irish dancing is a much more energetic form of dance which takes the whole body weight at all times. Irish dance shoes are made with the proper support for your child’s foot.

Children come to class in their school uniform or tracksuit whichever they are wearing to school on the day.  However classes are very energetic and also when the heat in the school is turned on it can be very hot.  I do like children to change in to shorts and T shirt or even our easy to put on black circular club skirt and t shirt.  This out fit is used for shows and Feis events throughout the year or for school events if called upon.  Skirt €20 Tshirt €15 or club shorts €20, dance socks €5, soft dance shoes €35.oo

I will have shoes with me to class next week.

If your child already attends Irish dance lessons outside school please check with their teacher before signing up for this course.  Depending on the standard they are at, steps can get confusing.  Every teacher has their own steps and style. Our style of dance fosters a healthy competitive spirit and may be taken to higher levels in outside school classes.  Parents are welcome at any time to pop in quietly to dance class to see how your child is progressing.  Reports are sent out at the end of the school year.   Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information at any time.

Registration may be made on line.  There is a small charge for on line payments.  Payment may also be made through cash or cheque with prices in your booklet.

Please note class time: 3-3.50pm.  Please note this class finishes at 3.50pm not as on the time schedule 3.45pm.  Thank you.  Please try to collect on time as I do have to move on to another class and must be on time for the children who attend Thank you in advance.  If you are running late or think you will be running late on the day send me an early text. From the age of four I have had a passionate love for Irish dancing. Knowing as far back as then that I was going to make teaching my career in the future I continued to dance my way through life and enjoyed every minute of it. I danced with the great Erin O’ Dalaigh and competed in many major events All Irelands, World Championships, festivals and shows. I successfully passed the T.C.R.G examination in 1988, which joined with my Childcare qualifications made a great combination to starting up and teaching the tens of thousands of children and adults to date. I work extremely hard as a full time teacher, teaching in areas such as Crèche’s, Schools, Special needs, foreign students, Adults private step dance classes and workshops throughout the World. I am delighted with the excellent standards achieved in my career to date. World Champion,European Champions,Irish National,Great Britain,North American Champion and many many Leinster Champions. Also our excellent teams of Ceile Champions. I am ecstatic with my achievement in taking the 2013 World Championship title under 18 ladies and also the placing of our excellent Ceili teams. I like to run a school of excellence and perfection which proves well in areas such as shows, festivals and especially competition. I love passing on my love of music and dance to others. This is my path in life and what I was born to do. I believe with the right teacher every child can dance. I believe all children should be treated the same no matter what their ability.
