We are only too delighted to pass on one of our achievement awards this term to one of our most beautiful stylish dancers, Lisa Gaughran. The beauty of given this award is that we can. Lisa was actually on a break from dancing for a while between exams, travelling abroad with fourth year studies and had made a decision to no longer compete. We were only too trilled to have Lisa back at class on our last term preparing to compete in the recent Irish National Championships May 2016. Of course with a great performance at this event Lisa did our school proud. It was a treat for us to see one of our extremely fit, hard working, talented and experienced dancers back on stage.

Lisa is a senior student at Mt Anville Secondary School. Lisa started dancing with us at 3 years of age. She started her dancing in Mt Anville junior school and continued on to take the extra Irish dance class and then on to many extra and advanced classes outside school around the Dublin and Wicklow area. At this stage there was no stopping Lisaand she won everything in sight. Lisa is a powerful dancer and has worked extremely hard at dance class over the years. She has built up her intricate and complex foot work and has qualified and placed at the World Irish Dancing Championships many times.  Lisa was also a great team dancer in one of our many ceile teams in the World Championships. Lisa is a beautiful elegant young lady whom with her work ethics and determination we are sure will be very successful in her future life. We are delighted to have been part of Lisa‘s journey so far. Thank you for working with us and helping us produce a star. A big thank you to Lisa‘s mum and dad whom also have travelled a long path with us. They have given a lot of time and effort to the dancing over the years. Lisa is a credit to you both as you are to her. Congratulations Lisa.

In our well deserved achievement awards this term is our lovely elegant dancer  Labhaoise  mc Hugh.   For many years Labhaoise danced for her own mum Therese who is a wonderful dance teacher. When Therese took a break from the dancing Labhaoise wanted to continue and we are delighted she picked our school. Labhaoise attends our advanced classes a few times a week travelling to us all the way from skerries. This year Labhaoise has had a very busy schedule dancing, acting and singing in lead parts in many musicals but has still managed to fit in her Irish dance classes. Labhaoise is in fourth year in school and has taken the year out of school to attend the College of Dance Kimmage. This is a full time professional dance training diploma course.

Labhaoise is a very determined and beautiful young lady to teach and can do anything she puts her mind to. She is a credit to her parents and guardians in her life. We are extremely proud of Labhaoise and her recent results in her Irish nationals. Even more credit goes to the beautiful dancer she has worked hard to become. We have no doubt in saying that Labhaoise will be successful in anything she puts her hand to in life and we are only too delighted to have been part of her journey. Congratulations.

As we draw another year to a close we would like to award our lovely Sarah with an achievement award for her fantastic year of dancing. Sarah started dancing with us in Mount Anville Junior school at 6 years of age. After working with Sarah’s natural style of dance it was not long before this shy little girl took to the stage and transformed magically into a very confident child.
It was then we knew we had a keeper. Ha ha!!!  Sarah started to win at one of her first open feis events.

Within no time Sarah was attending extra classes in Taney parish hall, Dundrum, Sandyford community centre and Bray.  As she grew addicted to dancing and “winning” Sarah worked hard at her workshops and camps during school breaks.  Sarah was one of our beautiful team dancers who danced on one of our ceile teams in the World Championships in London in 2014 at just 7 years old.
Sarah is now an open dancer and attends all the advanced classes in Bray. Sarah has just turned ten and has worked extremely hard this year on her footwork and fitness.  We are very proud of her recall at one of the major events this year The Irish National Championships in May 2016. It was so well deserved.  To move up the ranks so quickly takes a lot of hard work and Sarah has to be complimented for working so hard with her teachers.  At times this can be very tough and it takes a lot of energy and fitness to keep up.

Sarah is now ready to take on the open grades in style as she starts to work towards her qualifiers for the World Irish Dance Championships which will be held on Dublin next Easter 2017.  This is another new avenue which we are looking forward to travelling with Sarah. Keep up the great work Sarah. It will all be worth it in the end. A big shout out to Sarah’s mum dad and also grandma, the team who work together to support her trips and going and coming from dance class and feis events, Sarah is a credit to you all as you are to her. Thank you for your commitment.

We have the great pleasure in presenting Ailbhe with one of our achievement awards this term. Ailbhe is a student at Loreto National School, Grange Road, Rathfarnham. Ailbhe travels from Rathfarhnam a few times a week to our Advanced classes at the Fegan Irish dance studios in Bray.

Ailbhe started with us at the Taney parish centre at the young age of 6 years old. A beautiful little shy girl with not much to say (every dance teachers dream ha ha). It was not long however before she found her voice and tried her best to get out of the hard work which lay ahead, after she flew through winning all her grades.     We were delighted to have found and nurtured Ailbhe’s gorgeous style of dance.

Congratulations Ailbhe for working extremely hard with us. It was not easy, especially this past year. The open grades take a lot of work but it all paid off to date with a fantastic recall in the All Scotands in Feb this year and an even better recall place in the Irish Nationals in City West in May. We are very proud of you. Ailbhe was also a member of one of our fantastic ceile teams in the World Championships in London in 2014 at just 7 years of age.

Ailbhe is now an open dancer.  Open grades take time to master and we are going to enjoy the future as we watch you take on the world. We have great plans for the year ahead as we hope to prepare you to dance for a qualifying place in the World Championships in Dublin 2017. A big thank you to Ailbhe’s mum and dad for all their encouragement and support they have given Ailbhe. Also for  making the big effort in travelling to Bray for Ailbhe to attend her advanced classes in The Fegan Irish Dance Studios.
